What is DNJ?
DNJ is very similar to glucose and known to work to suppress increase of blood sugar levels after meals. It is easy to dissolve in water.
Mechanism of sugar absorption prevention.
Glucose from food is dissolved by αglucosidase in the small intestine and absorbed into the blood. For this reason, blood sugar level rises rapidly after eating.
However, by taking mulberry powder first, the DNJ in the mulberry powder connects with the glucosidase and prevents dissolving enzyme. The glucose is discharged and not absorbed into the body, so rapid increase of blood sugar levels is suppressed.
